We have got some pictures in various places, here on the shop blog, on our site welcome page and on my personal blog. I won't try and upset blogger by posting a million photos at once but here are a few we took on Sunday. We spent ages ohhing and ahhing over the 7 Gypsies stand and picked up catalogues and order forms. I completely loved this lamp with their whmsy charms hanging from it! The NewSquare certifiable seal stamps are pretty cool too - there are oval ones as well as square and the original crcular ones.

Playtime's Over - Now forWrok (but it's going to be FUN!)

So on Friday we went into LA to see a local scrap store - it was beautiful (seeMel's blog for picture - lnk in sidebar) Then yesterday (Saturday) we spent theday at Disney and today is SHOW DAY! It's 7a.m. and we are shortly going for breakfastbefore heading over to the convention center for the first day. Will try to take some pictures and post them later on.

Safe Arrival

After a very long journey we arrived in LA yesterday evening (local time) We stayed overnight before our flight at a hotel near Heathrow (which we arrived at around 2:30am) An alarm call at 7 am meant a grand total of four hours sleep!!! Flight was delayed a bit but the journey, though loooooooong was very good with little turbulance. We bumped into Lorraine from Just a Memory andMargaret and Emma from Artbase on the same flight - though Margaret and Emma enjoyed slightly more fancy seating than we did in bog standard economy! US immigration was painfully slow but we finally got to the desk, were finger printed, iris scanned and allowed to enter. We took a shuttle from LAX to Anaheim but by this time it was five o'clock local time and getting out of LA was another slow journey. We finally got to Anaheim at about 6:30 local time - 2:30 a.m. UK time. Needless to say we managed a quick bite to eat before crashing out!

It's 8:15a.m. ad we have a spare day today so we are off out, maybe to Disney, maybe somewhere else! Who knows.

Show registration starts tomorrow so we will get the floor plan and start planning our route round the stands and essental stops! Wish us luck.

Need Some Inspiration?

We have been working on adding some non retail content to the site and I am so excited to have a range of articles and classes already in place on our site.

Starting this week we are going to be offering a number of free classes, projects and ideas to prepare for the festive season.

We all struggle with presents for good old Auntie Enid, mini books and albums are lovely but somewhat time consuming and for those who like a more practical gift we have the answer!

Each week for the next six weeks we will be adding two sketches and example layouts for an 8x8 calender. The project looks great, will be useful as well as beautiful and best of all each month can be creeated in very little time. The idea is that you can follow the weekly installments to build up a calender(s) either to give away as a Christmas gift or to keep. Best of all it will be finished almost two weeks before Christmas - no more rushing around at the last minute trying to finish off!

Details will appear on our Homepage tomorrow evening and each Monday there after. Why not join in, and if you do please either upload to your blog or online gallery and send us a link. we would love to see your creations!

Hi to all the people we met and chatted to at Hintlesham today. It was, as usual, lovely to get to meet so many customers in real life! The internet is a wonderful thing and a great place to do business but the opportunity to chat face to face with customers is what really puts a smile on your face! I thought I would just upload a few pics of some of the stock we had with us today.
For anyone who missed us at Hintlesham today we will be at Nickis Crop in Bury St Edmunds on October 7th - it is sure to be a great day there with classes from some fab teachers as well as cropping and of course shopping. Keep your eyes peeled for more info...

As of this evening (Thursday 17th) I am going away for a week to stay with family on the sunny (I hope) Isle of Wight. This WILL NOT affect orders and dispatch as that is Jills department. It will mean however that e mails which are directed to my computer will be checked only once per day when Mum comes to attend to my bunnies! So if you need to contact us you can still e mail but the reply will not be a speedy as normal. If it is an urgent enquiry please telephone - 01787 210272. It's here and it's gorgeous!

The New Basic Grey is here and online NOW! Both collections are lovely and very different to each other. Gypsy is vibrant and funky and Lily Kate is muted but classy. Based on the previews I thought Lily Kate was basically going to be a replacement for the sweet pea collections which are being retired but now I see it I think it reminds me more of Urban couture in its designs. The new Wholy Cow Rub Ons are once again delicious and on my must have list!

My two new favourites though are the mini monograms and the 6x6 paper pads - so many people love the monograms but they are TOO BIG for lots of titles. The mini monograms are half the size so much more usable. Having seen the sublime and motifica 6x6 pads which Basic grey produced with K&Co I expected these to be the same - thin paper 6 sheets of each of 6 designs but in fact they are heavyweight paper with 2 of each of all the 18 designs so basically much more variety. I love them!

Fun At The Crop!

We took the shop to Nicki's Crop in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday and had a great time with the girls there. It was great to catch up with a really lovely bunch of ladies. Thanks for having us - we are already looking forward to the next time!

This week should be a busy one as the lovely new Basic Grey ranges Lily Kate and Gypsy are due in very soon. We are preparing the pizza box mountain and contacting pre registered customers who will get first option on the available stock. The rest will then go on the website.

Our UKS Class

Just a quick update to show you our class for the UKS event. It was uploaded to UKS yesterday so I can share it on here now. The classes had to include a layout as an example and a sketch which could be used with any of four kits. The four kits were themed A-Z, Book of Me, Holiday and Time. I used the Time kit for my example. The sketch is below.

Scrappin' Summer Holiday

Well the preparations are well underway for UKScrappers' summer event the Scrappin' Summer Holiday. We were really pleased to be asked to provide a kit, sketch and class for this event. Obviously I can't show you the class I have done as it has to be secret until the event itself. It will run over 5 days starting on Wednesday 2nd August but the relaxed pace will mean that people who are working will still be able to take part as there is one class per day which will remain online for the duration and beyond.

New Basic Grey Preview

The CHA Summer releases from Basic Grey are the Gypsy and Lily Kate Collections. The Lily Kate especially looks to be a departure from the type of design we have come to expect from Basic Grey and definitely doesn't seem to have that grungy look butas the Sweetpea Alyssa and Jack lines are being retired I guess this is their new delicate pastel offering. Gypsy looks to be more of a bright and funky offering which I think is going to be very popular!

Prima Flowers

I just thought I would post a quick thank you to all our lovely patient customers! We were poised for receiving lots of flak for the delays on the arrival of these pre orders and as it turned out we have had understanding and kind responses from every single customer we contacted. The goods that arrived which were not needed for pre orders are now on the site (with the exception of a few French Can-ection tins) and available now. Chatterbox - Feedback Needed

One of the most requested manufacturers when we asked what people wanted us to stock was Chatterbox. So we went out and got some gorgeous room collections which include patterned paper and co-ordinating Bazzill. So far we have Sitting Room, Dorm Room, Powder Room, Sun Room and Chateau online and I am working on getting Great Room on there too.

If you are not familiar with the Chatterbox range then you will be blown away by the gorgeous work that the Design Team came up with for the May Design Team Gallery which you can see here.

What we really need to know is what other rooms you want to see. It is our intention to continue to stock some of their newer rooms and some of the older rooms.
